Most villages in the area around the Fünf Seen Land in Bavaria lack meeting places for young people to live out their creativity and to create culture. In fact, over the last few years, most public youth spaces have been closed because no operator can be found, the spaces fall victim to vandalism or the municipalities do not provide the money to maintain them.

Our vision was to create a place for community creation, right in the heart of my home village, which I realised together with my friend, carpenter Sebastian Schuster.

We planned and built a timber frame house in just 6 months. The strip foundations provide a removable foundation, which were filled with demolition material from surrounding construction sites. Above this the prefabricated outer timber-frame-walls made it possible to build an inexpensive but high-quality outer shell.
Also the reuse of the entrance door and the windows, received from different refurbishments closeby, have reduced the costs.
The stable and environmentally-friendly insulated envelope enables the use of the space until today.
